Free 3D Printing Repair Pop-Up

To raise awareness of the capabilities of 3D printing and promote the benefits it can have for the repair and circular economy, I will be occasionally setting up free 3D printing repair services.

I will bring my 3D printer and laptop to a location that is sheltered and has power. Outdoor locations are ok as long as the weather is good and there is power.

If you are interested in hosting a 3D printing repair pop-up in your business location, please reach out to me by email at [email protected]!

How it works:

  • I will advertise the pop-up on my Instagram and local Facebook and Nextdoor Groups a few days before the event or when a date is set.
  • The idea is to raise local awareness so that on the day of the pop-up people can bring their items in for repair.
  • The repairs should be relatively small in physical size to ensure the print does not take too long.
  • I will take measurements of the part and model it during the pop-up.
  • Print times vary with part size and complexity but will try to keep it under 1.5 hours per repair.

3D Printing for Everyone!

3D printing has a wide range of applications; from prototyping and creating replacement parts to art installations. Once you understand the capabilities of 3D printing, you will find that it can solve many problems around you.

Businesses and individuals can also bring scaleable manufacturing back into local communities. One printer does not take up much room and it is easily scaleable as required.

3D printing is a great way for youths to get into the world of engineering. It is easy to get started and being able to turn 3D models into tangible physical objects is much easier to keep young people interested compared to writing lines of code!

It is a great intersection between creative 3D modelling, interacting with code to modify printer configurations, and electronics and mechanical engineering.
