Re: Warranty

I stand behind the products I make. I test all my products and as long as they are used correctly (ie. not overloaded or abused) they will stand up to everyday use.

Note that some items such as the Mid Stop Block might have differences in fit. Since the Brompton frame is a somewhat complicated geometry with hand brazing, there can be variances of ~millimetres that can affect fit. Most of these parts should be able to fit with some filing/sanding because I’ve made some parts fit on the larger side (you can always take away but hard to add back!). If you have issues with parts not fitting, please reach out and I will do my best to come up with a solution!

If you have a part that breaks, please take photos, keep the part, and let me know what happened. If there is manufacturing defect I will make it right.

Re: Price difference with Etsy

I also have an Etsy store with higher prices. This is to account for Etsy fees which can be substantial, especially if the sale is from an “offsite ad” placed by Etsy. In those cases Etsy fees end up being almost a third of the price the customer is paying! Therefore, I direct traffic to my own website when I can. The prices here are often lower than the prices on Etsy even after factoring in shipping.

But Etsy is still a good place for product discovery so I keep the store there as well. If you are here from Etsy, welcome! And I hope you can continue your support for my business here as well!

Re: Customization charges and delays

There are almost an unlimited choice of colours but I do not stock all of them! While I encourage you to ask for whatever customizations you want, if it is a material that I do not yet stock, I will ask for an additional surcharge and there will be a delay in getting the required material. On the other hand, I also have a lot of different colours that go in and out of stock therefore it’s a headache to list all that I currently have. So if you have a colour you want, feel free to enquire before ordering or making a note in your order.

You might ask why I would charge for ordering new material when there would be plenty leftover for future use. The reason is that the material has a shelf life, all with varying degrees. For example, TPU and PETG is prone to absorbing moisture over time which will lead to bad print quality. PLA can become brittle and become unprintable. There are ways to mitigate this by storing opened filament in dry boxes but as you can imagine, if I have 20 rolls of 1kg filament open, storage becomes an issue. Therefore, a surcharge (usually less than £5 but depends on the material) will apply for requests for colours I do not have in stock.

Re: Packaging

You may have noticed that the packaging from my products are not standardized or branded. This is because I reuse packaging. At the end of the day, no matter how nice the packaging, it will probably be thrown away therefore I have not invested in fancy packaging that will both make the product more expensive and lead to more waste. The packaging that I do buy is paper based to reduce plastic waste.

Re: My Background in 3D Printing

In 2015, I began my journey into 3D printing on a Makerbot Replicator at my local library. I had to pay per minute of print time! Most available models weren’t efficiently designed and faced with high costs due to long print times, I took it upon myself to learn 3D modelling. This experience ignited my passion for efficient and waste-reducing design, a philosophy that still guides my work today.

During the COVID lockdown in 2020, I acquired my own printer. A friend started a group to print protective equipment accessories for medical professionals, propelling my hobby to the next level. When locked down at home, I built my own 3D printer from scratch and really dove into the electronics and mechanics of 3D printing. For those who are goal oriented learners, take up 3D printing as a hobby and you’ll be familiar with electronics, coding, and 3D modelling in no time!
